Cabinet Hardware

About Cabinet Hardware

Pulls, knobs, hinges and the working parts inside cabinets fill this collection. There are bar and T-bar pulls in matte black, brushed nickel, champagne bronze and brushed brass from Amerdeco, Ravinte, Asidrama and Goldenwarm, solid brass long pulls, round metal and crystal-glass knobs, self-closing face-frame hinges and a Blum pie-corner hinge kit, soft-close and full-extension drawer slides, magnetic door catches and an under-desk drawer attachment.

Pulls are sized by hole spacing measured centre to centre, not by overall length. Common spacings are 76 mm (3 inches), 96 mm (3-3/4 inches) and 128 mm (5 inches); when replacing hardware on existing doors, match the old spacing or plan to fill and refinish the holes. On wide drawers, a pull roughly one-third of the drawer width tends to look proportional. For hinges, first identify whether your cabinets are face-frame or frameless, then measure the overlay, which is how far the door covers the cabinet opening; 1/2 inch is common on face-frame cabinets. Drawer slides are bought to match drawer depth and rated by load, with full extension exposing the entire drawer and soft-close adding a damper.

If you are installing more than a handful of pulls, a drilling template or jig keeps every handle at the same height and spacing; some Ravinte pulls here include one. Check screw length as well: the usual 1-inch screws suit 3/4-inch doors, but drawers with a separate false front need longer screws. Replace self-closing hinges in pairs on each door so both close at the same rate.

Frequently asked questions

How do I measure for cabinet pulls?

Measure the distance between the centres of the two screw holes, not the total length of the handle. Most pulls use standard spacings such as 76, 96, 128 or 160 mm. If you are drilling new doors, choose the spacing that suits the door size, and use a template so every pull lines up.

What does overlay mean on cabinet hinges?

Overlay is how much the closed door overlaps the cabinet frame or box edge. A 1/2-inch overlay hinge suits a door that covers the face frame by 1/2 inch on the hinge side. Measure from the edge of the opening to the edge of the closed door to find your overlay before ordering replacements.

Should I use knobs or pulls on my cabinets?

Many kitchens use both: knobs on doors and pulls on drawers. Pulls are easier to grip with wet or full hands and spread pulling force over a wider area, which helps on heavy drawers. Knobs need only one hole, making them simple to install on new doors. Choose one finish so the mix looks deliberate.

Can I convert my drawers to soft-close?

Usually, yes. Measure the drawer box depth, the clearance on each side, typically 1/2 inch for side-mount slides, and the weight the drawer carries. Replace the old slides with soft-close slides of matching length and mounting style. Undermount soft-close slides need specific drawer construction, so side-mount versions are the simpler swap.
