PneumaticPlus 4 Pack Anti-Vibration Pads 4x4x7/8 in Rubber & Cork

Four PneumaticPlus anti-vibration pads, each 4" x 4" x 7/8", made from a blend of rubber and cork. They go under machinery feet to absorb vibration, cut noise transmitted into the floor, and keep equipment from walking across a concrete slab.

The pairing of materials is deliberate. Rubber handles the larger movements and grips the floor; cork damps the higher-frequency buzz that rubber alone passes through. The ribbed faces use alternating rib heights, so lightly loaded pads compress on the tall ribs while heavier loads engage the full surface, giving isolation across a range of weights.

Common uses

• Air compressors
• HVAC units
• Treadmills and other fitness equipment
• Stereo equipment
• Bench tools in hobby shops and small industrial settings

Sizing the load

Each pad is rated for a maximum base loading of 50 PSI. To check, divide the weight resting on each foot by the pad's area in square inches; the result should not exceed 50. For a heavy machine, use more pads or a larger total area so the weight spreads out, and make sure each pad's footprint matches or slightly exceeds the machine foot, with some overlap around the edges for even loading. PneumaticPlus notes that a double-thickness pad can handle higher loading while still isolating.

Bolting down: the pads work with hold-down bolts, but the bolt must be isolated from the machine (with a rubber sleeve and washer, for example). A bolt that connects metal to metal carries the vibration straight past the pad.

The pads are rated for indoor and outdoor use and resist aging, compression set, water and oil, so they hold up under a compressor in a damp garage or an outdoor condenser.
