STUDSON SHK-1 Full Brim Safety Helmet - ANSI Z89.1 Type II, NFC Chip, One Size, Blue

The STUDSON SHK-1 is a full-brim safety helmet that takes a different approach from a classic hard hat. Inside its lightweight shell is a Koroyd core, a structure of tubes designed to crush and absorb energy from impacts, which works with TwICEme technology to provide protection all the way around the head. This one is non-vented, in blue, in one size.

Standards

The SHK-1 is listed as compliant with ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 Type II (R2019). Type I helmets are tested for blows to the top of the head only; Type II adds protection against impacts from the side, which matters on sites where people work around moving equipment, ladders and scaffolding. The listing cites Class C and E protections; check the class marked on the helmet's label against your site's requirements before any electrical work.

Fit

One size fits head circumferences from 53 to 63 cm. The Perfect Fit dial at the back tightens or loosens the fit in small steps, so it can be snug without pressure points through a long shift. The light construction is intended to reduce neck fatigue over a full day.

• Full brim for shade from sun and to shed falling debris
• Non-vented shell
• Koroyd core for 360-degree impact protection
• TwICEme NFC emergency chip
• Perfect Fit dial, 53 to 63 cm

The NFC chip

The built-in TwICEme chip stores emergency contact information. In an incident, a first responder can tap a phone to the helmet to read who to call, which is useful on large sites where a worker may not be carrying ID.

The full brim offers shade from overhead sun and keeps dust and debris away from the face, which is why it suits outdoor trades and industrial sites.
