Description
xOverview
The Virego XLE-4040 is a robust 4x40 reverse osmosis membrane designed as a direct replacement for DOW Filmtec XLE 4040 elements. Built for small to mid-size systems, it emphasizes high water production with dependable water quality and efficient energy use. The dry-packed configuration supports quick startup, helping minimize downtime during installation.
Benefits at a glance
- High water production paired with lower energy use, thanks to operation at optimized pressures.
- Advanced 4x40 design offering stable performance and greater productivity than older 4x40 generations.
- Salt rejection rated around 99% with feeds near 500 PPM, supporting effective desalination in typical commercial feeds.
- Food-grade materials and ISO 9001 certified manufacturing quality for reliable parts and assembly.
- Pre-treatment guidance helps protect the membrane: install front PP cotton and activated carbon to reduce particulates and chlorine exposure; monitor maintenance every 3–6 months.
Specifications and operating range
- Average yield: ~2600 GPD; maximum pressure: 600 psi; optimum operating pressure: ~100 psi (range 80–150 psi).
- Influent concentration tolerance: up to 500 PPM.
- Shipped in a dry state for quick startup and reliable on-site performance.
Practical use and compatibility
Designed as a direct replacement for DOW Filmtec XLE 4040 elements, the XLE-4040 fits a wide range of desalination setups found in small commercial and industrial water systems. Its footprint and construction aim to simplify upgrades or renewals in existing RO lines, potentially reducing downtime and facilitating smoother transitions from older membranes.
