Description
xThe Teodute Fish Tape is a 196 ft (60 m) steel fish tape for pulling wire through conduit, walls and pipes. The tape is 4.5 mm (0.17 in) in diameter, and it comes on a retractable reel inside a rugged case with seven replaceable leader tips and a pair of gloves.
Steel vs fibreglass
Fibreglass fish tapes are non-conductive, but they can splinter or snap when pushed hard. Steel is stiffer, so it pushes farther without buckling, tracks more steadily through long conduit runs and handles 90° bends better. The 4.5 mm thickness balances the rigidity to push with enough flex to follow curves without kinking.
Leader tips
Seven replaceable leader tips come with the kit. Coated in polyester-synthetic resin, they lead the tape around obstructions and through fittings. When a tip wears out, swap it rather than replacing the whole tape.
- Length: 196 ft (60 m)
- Diameter: 4.5 mm (0.17 in)
- 7 replaceable leader tips
- Retractable reel with large ergonomic handle
- Protective case (doubles as an on-site organizer) and gloves
The large handle gives a firm grip for the pull back, and the retraction mechanism winds the tape in with little effort, which matters on a tape this long.
Uses
Running LAN cable, pulling electrical wire through conduit, threading communication wires and working on rooftop, indoor and conduit jobs.
Safety: steel conducts electricity. Make sure any conduit, box or wall cavity you are fishing into has no live wiring, and switch off the relevant circuits before you start.
