Seal-Once Marine – 1 Gallon Penetrating Wood Sealer, Waterproofer & Stain | Water-Based, Ultra-Low VOC

Seal-Once Marine is a water-based penetrating sealer, waterproofer and stain for wood that lives near water. That includes docks, piers, decks, retaining walls and outdoor furniture exposed to humidity, spray and salt. This is the 1 gallon size. It soaks into the wood below the surface and reinforces the fibres, rather than sitting on top as a film that can peel.

Built for wet, salty conditions

• UV-stable, to resist sun fading and surface wear
• Resists salt spray and coastal moisture
• Breathable, flexible finish that moves with the wood
• Suitable for thermally modified wood
• Water-based, low odour, ultra-low VOC

A breathable sealer lets trapped moisture escape from the wood instead of blistering a surface coating. That makes it a good choice for dock boards and posts that get soaked and dried over and over.

Around lakes and rivers

When applied as directed, Seal-Once Marine is non-hazardous to aquatic life and safe for use around open water. That is a real consideration at a cottage dock or boathouse, where overspray and runoff go straight into the lake.

Application

Start with clean, dry wood and apply in suitable weather, with no rain coming and moderate temperatures. The product dries quickly, and brushes and spills clean up with soap and water, without solvents. Reapply according to the label to refresh protection as the wood weathers.

Results depend on your conditions and surface prep. Older grey wood that has been cleaned and allowed to dry thoroughly will absorb the sealer more evenly than wood that is still damp.
