Eau 44-Inch Flexible Magnesium Anode Rod Kit for Water Heaters | Fits GE, Rheem, Reliance

Overview

The Eau 44-Inch Flexible Magnesium Anode Rod is designed to protect your water heater by sacrificing itself to corrosion. This kit includes a long, hinged rod, a 27mm socket, and Teflon sealing tape, making replacement a straightforward upgrade for many tanks.

In everyday use, imagine a quiet basement or utility closet where a tired old anode rod is slowly doing its work. The flexible, four-part design lets you reach into cramped spaces and still align threads for a secure seal, while the magnesium composition provides electrochemical protection at a reasonable cost.

Key benefits

• Extends tank life by redirecting corrosion away from the steel lining, potentially reducing leaks and rust staining.
• Flexible, four-part hinge enables installation in tight confined spaces where traditional rods won’t fit.
• Complete kit includes everything you need: anode rod, Teflon sealing tape, and a 27mm socket in one box.

What’s included

• 44-inch magnesium anode rod, hinged into four parts
• 27mm socket tool for removal and installation
• Teflon sealing tape for a tight, leak-free seal

Compatibility and installation

The standard ¾" NPT connection makes this rod compatible with many brands such as GE, Rheem, Reliance, Richmond, Kenmore, A.O. Smith, and State. Replacements can be performed every couple of years to keep the tank strong.

To install:

• Inspect the old rod and prepare the connections.
• Cut the hinged sections to fit if space is tight.
• Use the included socket and tape to ensure a secure seal.
• Orient the rod so it rests inside the tank and avoids sharp bends.

Maintenance notes

Results depend on water chemistry and usage. Regular inspection and planned replacement help maintain performance without guessing about results.

Real-world use cases

Basement installations with limited access benefit from the segmented design. The kit’s ready-to-go format appeals to DIY homeowners and service professionals alike, offering a clear upgrade path for aging water heaters.
