The Zooz 800LR is built for demanding residential and light commercial setups. When paired with a compatible Z-Wave hub, it provides reliable wireless on/off control for a variety of loads, from bright LED arrays to ceiling fans and select motors. The upgraded 800LR chipset delivers improved range and faster responsiveness, helping scenes and automations stay in sync across rooms.
What it does well
- Heavy-duty load support: up to 600 W LED lighting, 1800 W incandescent, or 15 A resistive; 1 HP motors at 120 V and 3 HP at 240 V.
- Long-range Z-Wave: up to 300 feet of control, or up to 1300 feet with Long Range line of sight; real-world performance depends on walls and interference.
- Direct 3-way wiring: works with regular 3-way switches when a neutral is present; no add-on switch required.
Smart features and security
- Instant status reporting with automatic restoration of the last on/off state after power loss.
- Scene control, smart bulb mode, and LED indicator customization when used with supported hubs.
- New S2 authentication and SmartStart for quick, secure pairing; Z-Wave Plus certified for compatibility and safety.
Installation and safety
- Includes pigtails for a simpler installation; designed to fit standard Decora-style wall plates.
- Indoor use only; neutral wire required. Safety note: Do not connect to motors over 1 HP or 240 V loads.

Voice control is possible with compatible Z-Wave hubs (examples include Z-Box, Hubitat, Home Assistant, Ezlo, SmartThings). A hub is required for voice and broader automation features. Lifetime tech support and a 5-year extended warranty are available with registration within 30 days of purchase.
