Description
xThe Vosteed Raccoon2.0 is an everyday-carry folding knife with a 3.25" Sandvik 14C28N blade and a 4.36-inch Micarta handle. It updates the original Raccoon with a list of hardware and ergonomic refinements that knife people will notice right away.
Blade steel
Sandvik 14C28N is a stainless steel known for taking a very keen edge, sharpening easily and resisting corrosion. That balance suits an EDC blade that sees boxes one day and an apple the next. The blade has a precise tip for piercing and a profile built for clean slicing.
What changed in version 2.0
- Exposed liners for added stability and durability
- Full aluminum backspacer that adds rigidity and helps keep pocket lint out
- Larger dual stop pins for steadier lockup over time
- Dual jimping on the blade spine and front of the handle for traction
- Recessed deployment platform
- T8 handle screws for easier maintenance
- Chamfered edges, a cleaner choil and an updated clip position
In hand and in pocket
Micarta is a layered resin-and-fabric material that warms in the hand and gets grippier as it wears. Combined with the chamfered edges, the handle stays comfortable through long cutting sessions. Closed, the knife rides low in the pocket on its clip. Open, it is ready for package opening, light rope work or food prep on a camping trip.
Care tip: 14C28N is stainless, but it still pays to wipe the blade dry after cutting food. Put a drop of oil on the pivot from time to time to keep the action smooth.
