VESSEL Armor Grip 8-Piece Screwdriver Set — JIS Drive No.550A8PTU

VESSEL's Armor Grip 8-piece set (No.550A8PTU) is made for JIS screws, the Japanese Industrial Standard cross-head screws found in Japanese-made electronics, cameras, motorcycles and machinery. JIS screws look like Phillips but are cut differently. A standard Phillips driver tends to cam out of them and chew up the head, while a JIS driver seats fully and turns them cleanly. VESSEL machines these tips to fit JIS screws and checks them carefully during manufacture.

The set

Eight drivers come in lengths of 3, 4 and 6 inches, plus smaller specialized sizes. They sit in a polypropylene tray that measures 15 x 8 x 1.9 inches and fits a 2 inch deep toolbox drawer, so every driver has its own slot and you can see at a glance if one is missing.

Blades and tips

The blades are fully hardened chrome-vanadium alloy for wear resistance, with nickel plating against corrosion. Magnetized tips hold the screw on the driver while you start it, which matters inside a cramped cabinet or a device where a dropped screw disappears. A well-fitting tip also reduces cam-out and makes over-tightening in delicate assemblies less likely.

The set suits electronics repair, assembling furniture, servicing Japanese motorcycles and power equipment, or any bench where cross-head screws need to come out without damage.

Care tip: store the set dry, and always pick the tip size that fills the screw recess.
