Shelly Plus US Gen4 Smart Plug – Matter-Certified, Power Metering, 1800W

The Shelly Plus US Gen4 is a Matter-certified smart plug with power metering, rated for 1800W / 15A. It sits between an outlet and an appliance, switches it on and off by app, schedule or automation, and shows how much power that appliance is using.

Connections and ecosystems

It speaks three wireless protocols, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee, and works with HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa and Home Assistant, so it fits into whichever system you already run instead of tying you to one. Matter certification means it can be added to Matter-compatible platforms directly.

Scheduling and automation

• Schedules by time, date, or sunrise and sunset
• Countdown timer for turning things off after a set period
• Local automations that keep running when the internet is down
• Scenes and real-time notifications in the Shelly Smart Control app

Sunrise and sunset scheduling is particularly handy for lamps and holiday lights, since the times shift through the year without you changing anything.

Power metering

Watching an appliance's actual draw tells you what a dehumidifier, fridge or entertainment centre costs to run and whether something has been left on. The plug carries UL certification, an ambient light sensor, a multicolour status LED, and a protective socket cover to limit accidental contact.

Good to know: keep the connected load under 1800W. Heaters and kettles can come close to that, so check the label before automating one, and never leave a heater on a schedule in a room where it could be covered or knocked over.
