Philips Hue Smart 5/6 Inch LED Downlights | 6-Pack Color-Changing Recessed Lighting

Six Philips Hue White & Color Ambiance smart downlights, designed as retrofits for 5- and 6-inch recessed cans. Each one replaces the bulb and trim in an existing pot light, turning ordinary recessed lighting into tunable, colour-changing smart lighting without new fixtures or ceiling work.

Light options

White & Color Ambiance means two things: a full range of whites from warm to cool, and 16 million colours. In practice, most people use warm white in the evening, cooler white for cooking or work, and colour scenes for parties, movies or accent effects.

Ways to control them

• Bluetooth: control from your phone in a single room, no extra hardware
• Hue Bridge: adds more lights, automations, remote access and a more stable connection
• Matter: lets Hue work alongside other compatible smart home devices
• Voice: Alexa and Google Assistant; Apple HomeKit through the Hue app

Bluetooth alone is fine for a room or two. With six downlights plus any other Hue lights, a Hue Bridge is worth considering, since it handles schedules, away-from-home control and larger multi-room setups more reliably.

Installation

These downlights fit recessed cans with E26 medium-base sockets. Turn off the power, remove the existing bulb and trim, and fit the Hue downlight into the can following Philips Hue's instructions. Measure your can's inside diameter first: this kit is for 5- and 6-inch cans, and Hue makes a separate 4-inch downlight for smaller ones.

Once installed, the lights can be grouped by room and scheduled to match daily routines, such as a gentle white glow in a breakfast nook or bright, focused light for late-night work.
