Description
xOverview
The MILWAUKEE SHOCKWAVE 48-89-9249 Step Drill Bit is crafted for tough projects where one bit covers multiple hole sizes. Designed to work with impact drivers, it offers a controlled drilling experience across a range of materials, including metal, wood, and some plastics. This versatility helps you adapt quickly on the job without swapping bits for each size.
With a focus on durability, the bit’s geometry supports smoother starts and steadier progress. While results vary with material and technique, you can expect the bit to maintain shape under use and to resist common issues like wandering at startup. This is a tool meant to feel reliable as the workload increases.
Key benefits
- Longer service life under impact driving compared to standard options
- Sharp, stepped cutting edges promote cleaner, more accurate holes
- Versatile performance across metal, wood, and certain plastics
- Integrated diameters allow quick sizing without changing bits
Practical use cases
- Electrical installations requiring multiple hole sizes in metal enclosures
- Woodworking tasks that benefit from stepped holes for joints or fittings
- Plastic panel cutouts for clean edges in layout work
- Field projects where tool changes are minimized and efficiency matters
Usage tips and care
Pair the bit with a compatible drill or driver, maintaining moderate speed and steady feed. Use lubrication when drilling metal to reduce heat and wear. After use, wipe clean and store in the provided case to preserve edge geometry for the next job.
Notes: The SHOCKWAVE design emphasizes durability and stability, but performance will depend on material hardness, drilling conditions, and proper tool handling. Treat this bit as a versatile option that can adapt to varying hole sizes with fewer tool changes.
