GORILLA GRIP BPA-Free Soft Silicone Oven Mitts – Aqua, Heat Resistant, Waterproof, 2-Pack

A pair of aqua silicone oven mitts from GORILLA GRIP, rated for heat protection up to 484°F. The outside is flexible silicone with a honeycomb texture; the inside is a thick cotton lining, so your hands stay comfortable rather than sweating against bare rubber.

Silicone has a couple of practical advantages over the quilted cloth mitts most kitchens use. It is waterproof, which matters more than it sounds: a wet cloth mitt conducts heat fast, and steam from a roasting pan or spilled water can burn through damp fabric. Silicone also shrugs off stains, so a splash of tomato sauce rinses away instead of setting in.

Size

Each mitt is 12.5 inches long and about 8.3 inches wide. That length covers the wrist and part of the forearm, the area most often burned when reaching into the back of an oven or past a hot rack. The silicone stays flexible enough to tilt a pan or set down a dish with control.

Grip

The raised honeycomb pattern gives traction on smooth surfaces like glass baking dishes, enamelled cast iron and metal sheet pans, where a smooth mitt can slip.

Both mitts are made from food-grade materials with no BPA.

Use them for baking, roasting, broiling and grilling, and for grabbing hot pans, racks and utensils.

Care: rinse under running water and let them air dry. Make sure the cotton lining is fully dry before you use them again.
