Micro-Mesh offers a unique cushioned abrasive system designed to produce very fine and uniform scratch patterns. The nine grades span from 1500 to 12000 grit, giving you a progressive path from initial smoothing to near-invisible scratch lines. The 1500 grit sits slightly coarser than traditional 400 grit papers, while the 12000 grit can leave a surface that reads as highly reflective when you stop at the right point. This combination helps you explore a range of looks, from satin to mirror-like gloss, depending on how far you take the cycle.

These abrasives work well with water-based finishes and can function as a precise final rub for a smooth, controlled result. They lend themselves to careful, hands-on refinement of wood surfaces, offering the potential for a refined, even appearance on various wood types and coatings.

How to use

• Before Micro-Mesh, complete shaping with up to 320 grit to establish form
• Begin the cycle with 1500, then progress through 1800, 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000, and finish at 12000
• Between coats of finishes, sand from 1500 to 3200 or 3600 to remove orange-peel or dirt for smoother transitions
• After the final coat cures, start polishing at 2400 and move through 3200-12000 for the desired gloss; Micro-Gloss liquid abrasive can add an ultra-high gloss if desired

For best results, you can use these sheets wet or dry. They perform well with polyurethane, polyester, epoxy, lacquer, and other finishes, and a light oil such as lemon or Danish oil can be applied to bare wood after sanding to enrich the final look.
